The Huntsville Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (HRID)

HRID was established in the early 70's and is considered one of the longest existing chapters of ALRID. HRID members are active representatives of various related organizations such as ADRS, AIDB, COSDA, ODS, and VR, to name a few. Through the years, HRID membership has included great diversity including NASA scientists and engineers, and the best talents of various craft guilds. The balance of members from Deaf, interpreters, and supporters reflects the strength of working together for the common progress of a better community that embodies the core of both the RID and NAD mission statements. Within the last seven years, HRID has quadrupled membership and continues to grow as the strength of leadership combined with the deepest commitment and display of caring attitudes reaches the masses, touches the hearts, and enhances the lives of every individual. HRID learns from the past, lives for the present, and leaps toward the future!
