Belinda was recently
notified that she was selected for Mentorship Training.
Only one interpreter was chosen from each RID Region.
Congratulations, Belinda!
Belinda is often
called upon by new interpreters or signers (she teaches sign language
classes too) to provide feedback or guidance.
They do not hesitate to call her when needed because of her
helpful, caring manner and her style encourages confidence building.
Belinda
was not only heavily involved in writing and the development of the
Alabama’s Interpreter Licensure Bill, but she was influential in the
completion and passage of the Law.
She was a valuable resource and advocate to the Alabama State
House and Senate committees, providing clarification and revision
explanations when the passage of the bill was in limbo.
With Belinda’s oversight and diligence the ALRID membership was
kept informed about the bill’s progress.
This is further evidence of her personal commitment to
interpreting and the credentialing of the profession.
She is a true Professional!!
